JLPT Results

The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is initiated by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges & Services (formerly Association of International Education, Japan) since 1984 as a reliable means of evaluating and certifying the Japanese proficiency of non-natives.

Guide Lines

Please read the guidelines carefully before you register for the JLPT Exam


Registration


  • Registration can be made online only!
  • It is mandatory to the read the Registration Help in “Sinhala / English” before applying.
  • JLPT Exam Sessions- Registration is open from mid-March for July exam (1st session) and mid-August for December Exam ( 2nd session)
    Test Date -
    JLPT (July) : 1st Sunday of July
    JLPT (December) : 1st Sunday of December
  • Registration is open for 2 weeks on a first-come-first-served basis. There will be a limit on the number of candidates for the test. Registration may close early if the maximum number of candidates is reached before the closing date.

Please check the test level carefully before you register, Test Level cannot be changed under any circumstances after submitting the form.
All fees paid are non-refundable and non-transferable after registration.

  • Please note that each applicant is only permitted to apply for a single level in the JLPT exam. In the event that an applicant applies for multiple levels, refunds will not be provided.

On the Examination Day


  1. Applicants must bring their Test Voucher downloaded via Applicant Login - All Applicants are requested to take a black & white / color printout of the Test Voucher. Test Voucher must be printed on A5 paper in Landscape Orientation. Test Vouchers will be available before 2 weeks before the Examination Date
  2. Applicants must bring their National Identity Card or Passport on the Examination Day.

    Examinees will be denied entry into the test centre if:

    *They do not bring their National Identity Card or Passport
    *Examinees are late for the test.

    In such cases, examinees will not be entitled any refund of the Examination fees paid.
  3. Only HB Pencils, Erasers, Sharpeners and NIC/Passport are allowed in the Exam Hall.

    Pens, Mobile phones, Bags, backpack, handbags, clear file, clear bag, L folders, file covers, valuable items, wrist watches, digital watches and any other electronic devices are strictly NOT allowed inside the Exam Hall.



If you need special arrangements, such as Braille for blind individuals, hearing aids for deaf individuals, or magnifying glasses for partially blind individuals during JLPT exam, please contact the office of Japanese Language Education Association at 0112331894 (direct line) or via email at jlea.sp@gmail.com

When emailing, make sure to mention "Special Need" as the email subject and include your name and contact number in the email.

If you fail to do so within 2 days from the application submission date, special arrangement or refund will NOT be provided under any circumstances.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)


If your payment status appears in green and is marked as "Success," your application will be approved within 14 days.

If you have already received a reference number but did not complete the payment, please fill out a new application and make the payment using the new reference number. The old reference number is not necessary. Your application is only accepted if the payment is made.

The JLPT exam can only be applied for online via jlea.lk. Payment can only be made after submitting the application form and proceeding with the IPG payment form directed via the system.

No, there are no other ways to make a payment.
We strictly DONOT accept:

  • Bank deposits
  • Bank transfers
  • Payments made at the counter

If you are facing issues with payment, please contact your bank and request to enable international payment access for your card. If you are not receiving an OTP, your bank will assist you in resolving the issue.

No, you cannot change your test level after submitting your application.

No, one applicant can only write one test level at a given time, as all levels are conducted simultaneously.

The road map will be available for viewing one day before the exam date.

You can check your payment status by logging in to the Applicant Login portal using your reference number and password.

No, confirmation emails will not be sent. You must check your payment status through Applicant Login.

You can download your test voucher by logging in to the Applicant Login portal using your reference number and password. The voucher will be available for download one week before the exam.
